Excellence Recognized: Christopher Williams Honoured with Vice-Rector's Doctoral Award
The Department of English Language and Literature is proud to announce that our recent doctoral graduate Christopher Williams has received the Vice-Rector's Award for Excellent Results in Doctoral Studies at Masaryk University.
Dr. Williams completed the Foreign Language Didactics doctoral programme under the supervision of Prof. Olga Dontcheva-Navrátilová, with a dissertation examining how Czech upper-secondary students write English argumentative essays and the relationship between language proficiency and syntactic and lexical complexity. The award, established in 2021, recognises graduates who complete their studies within the standard period plus one year while achieving outstanding research results. We warmly congratulate Dr. Williams on this achievement and wish him every success in his future academic career.
